Like most moms of preschoolers, I am amazed everyday at how quickly my four year old son grows and learns. I’m constantly being challenged to stimulate and entertain him, somedays it feels like a monumental task.
A few years ago, I fell into the lazy habit of taking him to Target when I couldn’t think of anything else to do. Often we’d just wander the aisles, pick out a few small toys and kill a little time before it was time to be home for dinner. Although he is still a fan of Star Wars, Hotwheels and any Pixar film, we’ve started to spend more time making toys together and playing with them afterward. I learned that he loves new toys but they don’t have to be from the store – we save money and spend more time actually engaged with each other.
I finally decided to collect my bookmarks and homemade projects into a website, with the hope that other parents enjoy browsing it as much as I enjoy putting it together. There isn’t much here yet, but friends and I will be adding new posts every week so I hope you keep checking back.
